FAQs

Q: Does the package include accommodation and transportation?
A: Yes. But the price of the package varies on what type of accommodation you prefer (aircon or fan room), the point of origin and means of transportation (by air, land or sea)

Q: Is food included in the package?
A: No. Food is on your account. But there are hotels which give complimentary food to trainees when they perform well. There are also dormitories with kitchen or in case you do not want to cook there are lots of budget type canteens in Boracay.

Q: How far is the dormitory from the hotel of assignment?
A: Usually the dormitory is just walking distance from the hotel or just P15 fare by tricycle.

Q: Can I choose the hotel where I want to train?
A. Yes you can, provided that the hotel accept you and that you pass their screening policies. For the convenience and advantage of our trainees, we deploy them to hotels which cater mostly to European and American tourists. These hotels are 4-5 star establishments and are known for good quality service based on European standards.  Unlike other agencies which deploy their trainees to hotels which cater mostly to Chinese and Filipinos, these hotels are of low quality. We want our trainees to have a better training environment where they will get accustomed to operations and policies of remarkable hotels and get acquainted with foreign tourists. This will definitely give the trainee a better advantage especially if they are eyeing to work abroad.

Q: What are the requirements?
A: Resume, letter of endorsement from school, medical certificate, waiver with parental consent and training fee.

Q: Is cooking and doing the laundry allowed in the dormitory?
A: There are accommodations which are equipped with kitchen and/or laundry area, yet there are others which do not provide these amenities. Since we cater in a first come first served basis, we give the dormitory with kitchen and/or laundry area to trainees who book to us early therefore we strongly suggest that you do not delay with the reservations. We have a laundry area in our company’s staff house where we allow trainees to do their laundry for FREE.

Q: How many hours are required for training?
A: Usually 8 hours a day with 1 day off per week is the requirement. During peak season in Boracay you could be required to work overtime during holidays. The total number of hours depends on your school requirement.

Q: Do I get day off?
A: Yes, usually 1 day off per week.

Q: How many persons per room could be accommodated in the dormitory?
A: Depending on the dormitory, a room could accommodate 5-8 pax.

Q: Is there a need to wear my school uniform during training?
A: Usually the hotel requires wearing of white collared shirt, black pants, white socks and black flat shoes. You are also required to bring chef’s uniform and apron if you will be assigned to the kitchen and corporate attire if you will be assigned to the Reception. There are other hotels which have their own requirements like in the case of Ambassador in Paradise Hotel which require the trainees to wear orange polo shirt and white shorts, while others require khaki shorts. The details about these requirements will be relayed to you by our Coordinator beforehand.

Q: Are we allowed to receive and keep tips?
A: The policy on tipping depends on the hotel where you will be assigned. There are hotels which permit trainees and employees to receive and keep their own tip while others have a centralized tipping box which will be divided to all trainees or employees.

A: There are dormitories which have WiFi while others have none.

Q: Are we allowed to bring cellphones during training?
A: Depending on the hotel, some allow cellphones while other hotels do not.

Q: What are the terms and condition of payment?
A: Before we require you of payment, first you need to submit your resume to us so that the hotel could pre-assess your qualifications. When the hotel accepted you, you can now settle a down payment of P5,000 as reservation fee. Our Coordinator will inform you of bank details and payment instructions. The remaining balance shall be paid in full not later than 2 weeks before your scheduled departure to Boracay.

Q: Is Boracay a safe tourist destination?
A: Boracay now is considered as one of the top tourist destinations in the country, that is why the government is continuously investing in the development and improvement of Boracay in terms of infrastructure, promotion abroad and safety of its tourists and residents.

Q: Can I apply for work in Boracay immediately after finishing my training?
A: We strongly encourage our trainees to scout for potential employers while they are here in Boracay especially if the hotel where they undergo training offered them job invitation. This will definitely give the trainees a better head start and good stepping stone in their career. If you received such invitation, you should readily accept it and coordinate it promptly with your school for permission or special arrangements since you still need to facilitate the requirements for your graduation. Our company is extending post training service by helping former trainees who cannot yet find jobs 1 year after graduation. We could refer them to our partner establishments.

Q: Is it okay to bring rice and groceries? Is the price of commodities in Boracay expensive?
A: It is okay to bring your own food supplies as long as you will be convenient carrying these items with you. But the prices of commodities in Boracay are not that expensive as compared to Manila or your hometown.

Q: Are there stores in Boracay where I can buy cheap products and food?

A: Yes, in fact we tell our trainees during the orientation meeting where to find the cheapest stores and markets in Boracay.
